Live Free & Sing with Porstmouth Pro Musica, Saturday January 26

We’re excited to be part of the second annual “Live Free & Sing“, an afternoon of a cappella hosted by Portsmouth Pro Musica (PPM). The performance takes place at Portsmouth’s St. John’s Episcopal Church on January 26, 2019, from 4 to 6 pm.

Performing groups include: the Afternotes, a multi-generational female group of UNH alumnae (that’s us!); UNH’s Not Too Sharp; The Hilltoppers, which originated from the music program at Berwick Academy; The Stairwells, who had their origins in the early 1990’s at Traip Academy in Kittery; RMS 5, from the Rock My Soul Gospel Choir; and The Overtones, from Portsmouth Pro Musica. These groups perform pieces from many traditions, from pop to rock, to doo-wop and blues, gospel and roots, and show tunes.

PPM vice-president John Rice, also a member of the Overtones, designed this afternoon to showcase the region’s talents. He cited the diversity of the music as something “that’s both fun and entertaining to watch,” and is enthusiastic about the expected turnout, saying, “Last year’s concert was very well-received, and we can expect an even better response this year.”

Tickets may be purchased at the door or on-line at http://portsmouthpromusica.org/latest-ppm-news/live-free-sing/.
Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students.

Hope to see you there!
